Game Title: infeCCt
Developer: HandyGames, GmbH
Publisher: HandyGames, GmbH
Game Platform: J2ME
Tested Version: 1.0
Phone Reviewed: Sony Ericsson K800

A Different Kind Of Puzzle

Background:
"Forget about Sudoku! The simple and genius puzzle "infeCCt" will get you soon! Train your brainpower in a playful manner. Enter mysterious temple ruins and connect all tiles of the ancient challenges. With blocked tiles, intersections and tunnels, this is not as easy as you might believe." - HandyGames.

Design:
"infeCCt", a different, yet great puzzle game, offers a lot of what you like in this kind of genre. There isn't really a "story" here to talk about, but the menu design, game graphics and music tracks all work very well together in introducing you to an ancient world, full of mysteries and interesting stories, albeit in your own imagination as your are playing. On the surface, you may think the game is "just" a simple puzzle title with nothing else to offer but three hundred, yes, ** 300 ** levels of amazing puzzle action! 8o But the game also implements a highscore table which increases it's overall longevity and playability. The concept is simple, but the graphics and music work hand-and-hand to make this a charm. Although there are no sound effects, the graphics with it's "ancient stones and plants" theme, together with it's relaxing music, will chill you out whenever you need it. 8)

Gameplay:
The controls are as easy as "up", "down", "left" and "right". The objective of the game is to connect all the tiles in the map in order to fill it and get to the end without crashing or getting stuck. The game design makes it quite easy to play, as you don't need to learn too much to get started, and even without cruising the tutorial, you will find yourself playing without problems in just a few minutes. The smoothness of the gameplay makes it the best casual game I've tested recently, and for sure the best alternative if you are tired of conventional puzzle games. The difficulty increases as you continue further into the tons of levels available. The game runs smooth, without any slowdowns or frame-rate issues.

Conclusion:
This is definitely the perfect game for puzzle lovers and people with just a little free time on their hands. Also, this represents a big challenge even for hardcore gamers, in advanced levels. I enjoyed this game so much that I couldn't stop playing it, even after I had enough material to right this review.. and beyond! :pinch: The design, the gameplay, the construction, everything is working great here.

But, as you know, nothing is perfect. :P This doesn't really affect the game score, but there is something that Handy Games may want to keep in mind if they plan to release a sequel of this fantastic game. As mentioned earlier, there is no story at all. I mean, this is not a game that really needs it, but when you've played a number mobile games, you get used to reading more into the game than just the gameplay itself, as a story or "backstory" tends to explain why you are playing the game in the first place, and it just adds an extra dimension to everything. Anyway, the lack of story doesn't take away much because the game design, itself, introduces you well into your own story. It would have been nice to have had some sound effects and not just music, but that won't keep you from really enjoying this game. Aside from that, the game in simple words, is "perfect".
