the only

thing with all this is that we have to wait some years to see what's going on
Maybe.. Maybe Not. If Nokia does, in fact, have Patents for all that is mentioned in these suits, which I am 150% certain they do, then they are gonna Fight tooth-and-nail! And keep in mind that Nokia has a History of Fighting Patient disputes until the Bitter End. Where as Apple has a History of Settling Disputes when then know they're in the wrong and are gonna loose.
Let Me also say that when it comes to using pre-existing technology in their products, Apple tends to go by the misguided idea that,
"It's Much Easier to do something without asking first and apologize for it later, than it is to ask for permission first, and being told NO.". A good example of that think is right before the iPhone was released, a company called "Sierra Wireless" sued Apple and wanted to block the sale of the device, because they already had legal ownership to the name "iPhone". Here's what happened with that...
At first, Apple tried to say that Sierra was full of Sh*t and in true Apple Arrogance, they went ahead and released the iPhone anyway, without any kind of permission to use the name at all. Well, almost Immediately, Sierra Fired back with an Unbelievably HUGE Lawsuit against Apple claiming they were infringing on their Legal and Long Existing Trademark to the name, with serious proof to back it up. I think within a Day after that, Apple settled the case for an undisclosed sum of $$$, and continues to this day to pay Sierra a Licensing Fee to use the "iPhone" name.
So with all that in mind, I'm willing to bet that Apple is gonna settle this dispute with Nokia Sooner rather than later. Cause the longer this situation drags out in court.. the More Money it will mean for Nokia in the End. We'll See.
