Yamake for N-Gage, by Nokia Games Publishing, makes it possible for players to create their own games from a range of mini games by adding content, then playing and sharing them with friends and the wider Yamake community.
"Yamake is a groundbreaking new game for the N-Gage platform. Players can make, play and share games that are customized using user-generated multimedia content, and we are proud to be pioneering this new way of playing," said Dr Mark Ollila, Director of Technology and Strategy and Head of Games Publishing, Nokia. "This is exactly what the future of mobile gaming should be about - creating games that you love and want to play, then sharing them with other players."
The easy-to-use design tools enable each mini game to be transformed by the player's personal content such as text, pictures, sound clips and movies from the mobile device or PC - creating their favorite mini games, such as picture puzzles and quizzes that are as unique as the players themselves.
Players can share their mobile mini games via the N-Gage Arena, the Yamake community and via multimedia message between N-Gage compatible and other S60 devices. The Yamake community connects players with one another, allowing them to download and review the mini games, as well as share ideas for content.
me too , but nokia , they have only just began creating it /// i was speaking with ikona and he informed that it would be out in the end of the 2Q / i hope that it's true, this date is better than RLS-Date from pl_pirat's post
ok i dont blame it before it is released. but i think that kind of game is not for me. im affraid the graphics will be awfull. and we will just get very limited ways for creating a game. i would like creating FPS, racing games or RPGs in 3d. but i dont think we can do that. tetris like games, and maze like games .... and puzzle games. but no big games.
but for some people its sure interesting.
ganxta, rpg , racing , fps, tps - the populest genres . i don't know anythig about genres , but it will be possible to create 3d mini-games ; even if this games are tetris and puzzle it will be either interesting to create them ourselfs
Yamake Art Project Launches
Published by ikona on November 13th, 2008 in News, yamake
The Yamake Art Project has officially kicked-off with the launch of its website.
Some 50 designers and artists from various corners of the world have customized Yamake designer toys to be shown online and in a London, UK art exhibition “House of Yamake” later this month.
The website acts as a hub for these designers and artists to share their Yamake designs and interact with fans, and also gives the opportunity for everyone to customize their own Yamake using flash tool and downloading their own creation for their own use, for example as their personal N-Gage Arena avatar.
Yamake for N-Gage is all about ‘Play, Make, Share’ - it’s easy and fun to play, make and share content from pictures, video clips, and sound files on the mobile device - and this philosophy is reflected throughout the project.
The customized toys will be on display on November 20-23 at an art exhibition in London, UK entitled “House of Yamake”. Proceeds of the sales will go to the designers and artists to support future creative works.
